Jack Nicholson
Jack Nicholson is known for playing a wide range of different roles throughout his illustrious movie career. But it was his mother and grandparents who probably deserve one of his Golden Globe awards for the pretense they kept up for much of his life. Nicholson’s mother was a showgirl in New York and she got pregnant with Jack at age 16. The unmarried teenager probably didn’t want the baby to affect her career and so her own parents agreed to raise Jack as their own.
Jack was oblivious to the big family secret, spending most of his life not knowing that his sister was actually his birth mom. In 1974 the secret was finally out; it was a Time Magazine reporter who told him the news while doing a cover story on the actor. By this time his biological mother was dead and his grandmother ( who he thought was his mom) was dying. Of the situation, Nicholson reportedly said he was happy that the two women took the secret to their grave, he said, “I didn’t have to deal with it with them. They were dead.”
