From a very young age emperor Hirohito had a very strong patriotic feeling for his country. This is certainly exhibited by this photo of the young emperor waving his flag. Qualities he exhibited later on in life as Japan’s ruler. Emperor Hirohito was Japan’s ruler for 60 years from 1928 through WW II to 1989 during which he through his army committed many atrocities such as the infamous Nanking massacres.
